There are various grants for elder care available in the United States. You just have to know where to look. Grants are available to help elderly people with various expenses, including medical costs, food costs, clothing, shelter, and even in-home nursing or other home health aide services. Some grant programs help non-profit organizations to provide senior daycare programs.

Medicare and Medicaid

The Medicare and Medicaid are federal programs aimed to help eligible United States people, including the elderly or seniors. Elderly in the United States can gain benefit from the Medicare because it covers medical expenses, including prescriptions, outpatient and inpatient treatments and care, and home health care. If you are a senior whose age is above 65, then you are eligible for the Medicare program. Submit the application and all of the required documents.

Meanwhile, the Medicaid is available for people with low income, including the elderly. The Medicaid is almost similar with the Medicare. It’s basically a program provided by the federal and state government that help eligible people to cover medical expenses. Eldercare Initiative Long-Term Care Grant Program

ElderCare Trust Fund

Nonprofit organizations in South Carolina who are dedicated to providing services for the elderly should try to apply for the ElderCare Trust Fund grant. Each year, there are around two to four grants awarded, and each grant award can reach up to $10,000. Depending on the organization’s performance, they can re-apply for the grant for up to three years. If your organization is interested in this grant, you can contact the Florida’s Lt. Governor’s Office on Aging.

Alaska Home and Community Based Senior Grants

Last but not least, there’s the Alaska Home and Community Based Senior Grants. This program is also dedicated for nonprofit organizations dedicated to helping the elderly, available every three to four years. The grant can be used to provide services for seniors, especially who are ineligible for Medicaid. The grant is administered by the Alaska’s state agencies.
